Education at Sussex Past Properties

Sussex Past provides educational services, workshops and special events for schools, families and adults at its Properties.

 


Schools – Education services and workshops for children are organised by the local Properties Education Officer and can be adapted to suit your schools needs.  The table below gives an idea of the periods and topics available at our properties. Follow the arrows for more information and details on how to book.

Families There are special events at weekends and summer holiday activity days for children and family groups.  During these events visitors have the opportunity to dress up in period clothing and try practical activities such as pottery.  Check our forthcoming Events list for further details.


Adults Sussex Past works in partnership with Universities and Local Education Authorities to provide opportunities for Adult further education. 
  • Classes and lectures are organised by the Centre for Continuing Education at Sussex University.
  • One day and weekend courses are organised by West Sussex Adult Education.  Typical topics include making mosaics, sculpture, Introduction to archaeology,  Archaeology of animals, Family history and Roman garden design.

You can also become involved in Sussex Pasts archaelogical fieldwork, see Research, as part of an academic course or just for fun.
