One of Shakespeare's best loved plays, Much Ado About Nothing is about love, trust, supposed betrayal and play-acting. Returning from war, Don Pedro and his men meet Leonato's daughter Hero and her cousin Beatrice. Claudio immediately falls in love with Hero, whilst Benedick and Beatrice's relationship is rather more fiery and less immediately loving. While Don Pedro, Leonato and Claudio plot to get Beatrice and Benedick together, Don Pedro's brother Don John plots to split up Claudio and Hero. A fierce denunciation, a supposed death and a joyful final reunion make this a challenging yet ultimately happy play. With its very modern themes of the roles of men and women in life, marriage and the armed forces, Much Ado About nothing promises to be a gripping and laughter-filled evening for all.‘Much Ado about Nothing’ by William Shakespeare, performed at the Castle by Brighton Little Theatre.
