PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BUILDING IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS DURING THE HIGH SEASON - BUT IT CAN STILL BE BOOKED FOR PRIVATE FUNCTIONS AND WEDDINGS.

Anne of Cleves House is a 15th century timber-framed Wealden hall-house that formed part of Anne's divorce settlement from Henry VIII in 1541. The house contains wide-ranging collections of Sussex interest, including Sussex pottery, and the bedroom and kitchen are furnished to reflect an earlier period. For information on weddings and other functions in this atmospheric building please click on the link to the right.

Other displays feature Lewes from the 16th century to the present day and the Wealden ironwork gallery has artefacts from firebacks and cannon to boot-scrapers and chimney backs, illustrating this influential Sussex industry.

Disabled access:All visitors are welcome; however due to the historic nature of the building there are changes of level and thus wheelchair access to the house and garden is very limited. A ramp is available to enter the East Room. We have no disabled toilet facilities.

You could become more involved in the work at Anne of Cleves House by joining the Friends of Anne of Cleves House. The Friends of Anne of Cleves House arrange regular events during the year.
