The Bishopstone Tidemills Project is the Sussex Archaeological Society's latest fieldwork venture, designed to trace the history and development of this important tidal mill and its associated village between Newhaven and Seaford, East Sussex. It is a community project and is open to all. A separate page will be constructed shortly. In addition you will find reports on recent excavations at Bishopstone village, Marlipins, Shoreham-by-Sea and Brack Mount, Lewes. You will also find to the right details of the Barcombe and Hamsey project (just north of Lewes). The project is largely based on historical resources for the two parishes, but it has also involved some fieldwork. And by popular demand we have maintained a link to interim reports on the Society's previous excavations at Fishbourne Roman Palace. We have also begun a new feature which outlines what archaeological work has been going on in Sussex.
We are now making available online old editions of our thrice-yearly newsletter, Sussex Past and Present, starting with the April 2007 issue (no 111). You will find the link to the pdf files on the right of this page.
